    Abstract

Climatological Station Semarang is a weather observation station owned Climatology Meteorology and Geophysics Agency in charge of weather observation in Central Java. Since 2004, used an application of Automatic Weather Station (AWS) to collect weather data automatically. Weather data were obtained by AWS transmitted using VSAT network technology. In the VSAT network, is often faced with the problem of significant delay and capability VSAT terminals receive and transmit data very susceptible to weather changes. VSAT network performance analysis emphasizes the process of monitoring and measuring network quality parameters namely delay and data rate with experimental research methods. From the magnitude of the result is the average value of the minimum delay of 700 ms with an average value of maximum delay of 1784 ms. As for the value at the maximum data rate of 342 Kbps can. With a delay value and a data rate of the VSAT still can communicate well, this is because there are features on VSAT TCP spoofing and ACK reduction. A reliable computer network system will be able to serve all data traffic in both the high and low state and in any weather conditions.
