    Abstract

Indonesia's forests and other ecosystems, is the country with the richness and biodiversity in second place after Brazil, thus placing the country Indonesia as the country megabiodiversitas and mega centre of biodiversity of the world. As many as 10% of the world's rain forests are located in the territory of Indonesia, even 50 years ago, 82% of Indonesia's territory is covered by forests. Currently many forests in Indonesia are turning the function, the function changes the forest Indonesia to other functions could not be separated from economic development activities.Instead the forest functions occur as a result of the development process, in which Indonesia as a developing country still depends very much upon its natural wealth. To be able to see how these forests occur over the function, the necessary stages of identification by experts who are used to prevent the widespread forest or over the function determine the quality of a forest using dempster-shafer method. This method is used to compare the data in the past with the most recent data about the changes contained in the forest.
