Abstract
Library of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Semarang in the run the activities of borrowing and returning books do a lot of work such as record books, record member, record transactions borrowing and returning books and make reports required by the head of the library, where the officer may do the job sometimes find it difficult and error, for example, the difficulty in finding the data and report generation process is time consuming and misinformation. From these problems the authors build a library information system that can present information accurately and efficiently. In this study the authors use a waterfall system development method starting from the stage of system engineering, analysis, design, coding, testing, maintenance. From the results of these studies will result in the book collection process, data collection officers, members of the data collection, lending transactions, the transaction returns and the making of required reports. The system is expected to handle problems that occur and could improve the library service itself.
