Abstract
Kauman is the largest Muslim village in Yogyakarta, which saves a lot of interesting historical stories to be studied and explored. However, along with the development era and the influence of globalization, Kauman slowly changing. The changes that occur in Kauman impact was so great that the presence of the Islamic organization, Muhammadiyah. Given these events, the authors tried to produce a documentary about the history of the historical development and the changes that occur in Kauman. To further discuss Kauman, then made a documentary titled Kauman Undercover. This documentary uses narrative concepts using straightforward language and said lightly, and use the flashback technique to add an interesting storyline this documentary. In the documentary Kauman Undercover, the author acts as a script writer. As a script writer must pay attention to the important points such as language, images, sound and narration. Documentary program Kauman Undercover are expected to provide information regarding Kauman, not only provide information but the program also aims to educate the public about historic sites around us that we need to know, studied, protected, and cared for its existence.
