    Abstract

    This paper contains an analysis of Cube Mapping OpenGL which has been studied by previous researchers. Cube Mapping is an environment mapping method in addition to the sphere mapping and is currently widely used due to the efficiency and simplicity to be implemented. Cube Mapping has its own advantages compared to its predecessor, Sphere mapping, that is the ability to provide visual data in the form of 6 different images as if attached to the 6 sides of a cube square. This will not cause distortion effect on the texture image as often happens in the Sphere Mapping if the modeler was careless. In addition, image texture on Cube Mapping can be more detailed and realistic in a virtual environment.
