Abstract

Risk factors that cause changes in the body that is often not realized deliver people on the conditions that trigger the onset of degenerative diseases. Quoted from the report of the World Health Organization (WHO) degenerative disease has increased the severity conditions of most countries in the world. It takes early awareness from people about degenerative disease. To handle the problem the technology that can be used is an expert system. Expert systems are able to imitate human intelligence. The purpose of this expert system application that it will assist and facilitate public to know the illness and its solution by input the perceived symptoms through the application of web-based expert system so further treatment of the degenerative diseases can be quickly done. This expert system uses a search method in an inference engine that is tracking ahead (forward chaining). The results of this study is the formation of an expert system application that can facilitate public to detect degenerative disease. Where the system is able to determine the type of disease and its solutions based on the symptoms felt by people or user. Based on the calculation of the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) shows the value of 7% is directed at a sample of 100 people with the degenerative disease using an expert system application web based detection of degenerative disease. In the MAPE criteria this expert system application is very well.
