Abstract
Nowadays, the technology is growing rapidly, and computer tecnology is one of them. Computer technology has spread in many circles and it isn't something that is unpopuler to the general people. Many areas already using the computer as a tool to help the daily work and activities. In the scope of public health service, information technology is also needed to process patient data storage. Public health center is an agency angaged in public health service. Fast response service is needed here, so a computerized system is needed too. In Public Health Center Kapuan, patient history or medical record management is not well structured so it is hard to find patient data, duplicate medical record and missing file. The purpose of this research is to build an outpatient information system in order to provide well managed medical record of patient. The method used in the development of this system is prototype method. It is need to identify user requirements, developing prototype, determine whether the prototype is acceptable and finally use the prototype. The result of this study is the development of outpatient information system for public health center Kapuan.
