    Abstract

    This thesis presents the analysis of structural aspects in Our Town by Thornton Wilder. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the main characters and characterization, conflicts, settings, and theme of Our Town.The discussion is started by analyzing the intrinsic aspects of the play namely the main characters and characterization, conflicts, settings, and theme. From the analysis of the intrinsic aspects and the relation between one aspect and one another will be tried to reveal.The library research method was used to gain the information related to the discussion. Structural approach was applied to analyze the main character and characterization, conflicts, settings, and theme.The result of the analysis shows that in Our Town there are two main characters. The main character is George Gibbs and Emily Webb. George Gibbs is round character and Emily is flat character. The conflicts are internal and external conflict. The setting of this story is setting of place, time, and social. From the analysis of the characters and characterization, conflicts, settings, it can be seen that theme of this story is the theme described through the whole intrinsic elements specify of the theme. The theme is Transience of Human life. Those elements are the main characterization, conflicts, settings, it can be seen the theme.
